The Camera Operator Chronicles: From Part-Time Volunteer to Full-Time Freelancer

Posted on December 22nd, 2008 December 22nd, 2008 by MEGA

This blog serves a multiplicity of purposes.  First, it converts the hardcopy history of my memories as a videographer into softcopy preservation for more efficient and effective storage for the future.  Secondly, it shares my experience enough to convey ideas about how someone seeking to transition out of working video as a volunteer/part-timer may do so by passionate pursuit of working video as a profession fulltime.  Thirdly, this blog serves as a testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ who, as my Provider for all opportunities I have been given, without Him, none of this would have happened- including life itself.

With this blog starting in December 2008 (this intro being written spontaneously on the morning of December 17th), all entries prior to this time- especially those from January 2003 to January 2008- are written to the best of my recollection.  Once this blog is established, I hope to keep it consistently updated- at least once a week.  By chance, if, right now, you are a camera operator where I was 6 years ago, seeking guidance on how to obtain employment in media, you may want to get information sooner than later so I’ve made available to you Subscriptions to this blog.

Well, I think that’s enough of an Introduction to inform you sufficiently so you can decide if you desire to read more.  If so, let’s get to my story…
